Mmm.. Chocolate

I so love the chocolate brown colour.. I believe it's the new black.. I can pair it up with just about anything and I won't turn my nose up at it, and for me, that's a chore.. I'm very picky with colour choices (okay, mostly when my 'I-swear-yer-colourblind' hubby picks 'em out). I wanted something simple, but I'm so not into turtlenecks... I have a short neck and it's very annoying having so much bulk around it at times.. I compromised and this is the result...

Sentimental and Tatty

This is a sweater I knit when I was 13-ish.. What confidence to take on this task! but, it was a special gift for a special uncle.. As I was starting the second sleeve, he passed away.. Very sad time for me, but I was so very determined to make it anyway. When I completed it, it was so large, too large for anyone that I knew.. What did I do? I unravelled every last bit and started again! So, this is my over 30 year old sweater.. it looks rough in spots, but it's been there for me..And everytime I look at it now I can smile and think of the great person who inspired me to make this :)

Crocheted Hoodie

This is a hoodie I crocheted for my niece for Christmas this past year.. I completely bounced around on this one with trying to get the gauge right.. I'm not one to EVER check my gauge, I just kinda jump in and whatever happens, happens.. BUT, this was a gift and I needed to get it right.. I'm quite impressed with how it turned out and she loves it! The pattern is from the Nov Issue (I think) of Crochet magazine.. I flipped through it and couldn't resist the temptation and got to work right away.. Also made another sweater from it for my Mom-in-law.. I'll need to get a pic of that one, too..

Cake Hat

Here's a pic of a hat I made last year.. I found the basic pattern on the net somewhere and kinda created my own pattern for the colours.. Everytime the babe wears it she always gets comments on her cute/adorable/pretty hat.. I think it's the wearer that makes it cute, but I'm biased like that ;)

Pawple Socks for the Princess

Here goes.. the main reason to create this blog.. to show off some of my creative talents.. my latest creation.. 'pawple socks' for my daughter... I had made one pair from a single ball of yarn, then the leftover just got on my nerves so I decided to create another pair, just a little fancier.. now all that's left is a tiny little ball.. I'm sure I'll find some use for that ;)

Woot!

Alright, this is my second shot at this.. seems I'm NOT the dumb blog I thought I was when I tried to update.. ;)
